This Privacy Policy describes how TravelHelper (“we”, “us”, “the app”) handles information when you use our mobile application. By using the app, you agree to this policy.

1. Who we are

TravelHelper is a travel assistant application. For privacy questions, contact us at: privacy@example.com.

2. Information we process

Depending on how you use the app, the following may be processed:

• Trip and app settings — such as selected countries, city, display language, theme, and preferences. Stored on your device.
• Location — if you grant permission, we may access device location to suggest your current country, improve travel-related features, and (with your consent) detect when you may be abroad. You can disable location in system settings.
• Photos you take in the app — images you capture for the trip checklist are stored locally on your device unless you share them yourself outside the app.
• Voice input — if you use voice features, audio may be processed by your device’s speech recognition and/or sent to our backend services for translation or assistance as described below.
• Technical data — basic device/app diagnostics may be collected by third-party SDKs (e.g. for advertising or crash reporting if enabled).

3. Firebase and cloud services

We use Google Firebase and related cloud infrastructure, which may include:

• Authentication — anonymous or lightweight identification to access protected content.
• Cloud Storage — downloading static data (e.g. country information, phrases, attractions) to your device.
• Cloud Functions — server-side processing for features such as weather, exchange rates, or AI-assisted responses.

4. Third-party services and APIs

To provide core features, data you request (e.g. approximate location for weather, currency pair for rates, or text you submit) may be sent to:

• Weather and currency providers (via our backend),
• AI / language models (via our backend) when you use assisted translation or voice help — your text or transcribed speech may be sent for processing,
• Google Maps (or similar) when you use map features — subject to Google’s terms and privacy policy.

We do not sell your personal information. Third parties process data only as needed to operate these features.

5. Advertising

The app may show advertisements through Google AdMob (or comparable networks). AdMob may use an advertising ID and device signals to serve and measure ads. You can limit ad personalization in your device settings. See Google’s Privacy Policy and AdMob documentation.

6. Data retention and security

Locally stored data remains on your device until you delete the app or clear app data. Server-side logs and provider retention follow each service’s policies. We use reasonable measures to protect data in transit (e.g. HTTPS) and follow platform security practices, but no method is 100% secure.

7. Children’s privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13 (or the age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, please contact us and we will delete it where required.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing, or to opt out of certain uses. Contact us at the email above. You may also control permissions (location, microphone, camera) in your device settings.

9. International transfers

Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, appropriate safeguards apply under applicable law.

10. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change; continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy where permitted by law.
